Eagles running back LeSean McCoy was knocked from the game with a concussion in the final moments of Philadelphia’s 25 point loss to the Washington Redskins in week 11.
As if Sunday’s 31-6 loss to the Redskins, the Eagles sixth straight, wasn’t difficult enough to swallow, the Birds were dealt another serious injury in the game’s final moments.
LeSean McCoy left Sunday’s game with 1:45 remaining after taking a shot to the helmet and was later diagnosed with a concussion.
You have to wonder why McCoy was still in the game with under two minutes to play, down 25 and the game already decided.
“We were trying to score some points,” Eagles Head Coach Andy Reid said afterwards. “And catch up to win the game.”
Two key Eagles players have now suffered concussions in successive weeks after Michael Vick left last week’s game against the Cowboys with a concussion and now McCoy was knocked out against the Redskins.
McCoy finished with 15 carries for 45 yards and led the team with 67 receiving yards.
Bryce Brown, McCoy’s backup finished with five carries for 35 yards against the Redskins.
Meanwhile, Brent Celek was diagnosed with a head injury but Reid said afterwards that he would be okay.
